Bob’s Toasted Teff Porridge

Make this great porridge recipe from Bob’s Red Mill for a healthy and hearty breakfast.



1/2 cup teff

1/8 tsp fine sea salt

1 1/4 cups milk or plain non-dairy milk

1 1/4 cup water

1 tsp vanilla extract


Suggested Additions

Agave nectar, liquid honey, brown rice syrup or pure maple syrup. Fresh or dried fruit.

  1. In a small saucepan, toast teff over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes or until fragrant. Add salt, 1 cup of milk and water. Bring to boil
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Server drizzled with remaining milk and any of the suggested additions as desired.
